I had a full career in the Army before retiring in 2001 and taking up singing and songwriting as a hobby. I've been writing songs for more than 12 years now and it's now grown into what could be described as a full time occupation. I've just finished recording my fourth album and there can be no finer complement to any songwriter than to have your songs recorded by fellow musicians and singers, specially when they are of the calibre of Vin Garbutt, Martyn Wyndham-Read, George Hamiltom IV and all the others. I'm a resident of a great folk club in York The Black Swan Folk Club and run a number of songwriting workshops throught the year. My main effort goes into writing and recording my songs.
My new album is called Music & Friends. Recorded in Big Sky Studios in Melrose and produced by Kenny Speirs it contains 14 new songs, four of which have Australian connections, including Green And Gold,(My Henry Lawson Song), The Olive and The Vine and Where Did The Brumbies Go.
